How to Arrange a Funeral Step 3 – After the Funeral

The time after the funeral is often the busiest. It’s when a lot of the tasks, which had been put on hold, need to be completed.

Immediately after the funeral there are things to think about like scattering the ashes, or organising a memorial or headstone. You may also want to consider an entry in the Crematorium Book of Remembrance, planting a tree or having a plaque placed somewhere your loved one enjoyed visiting.

You may want to take some time to thank people for their support or for their donations.

Legal matters start to become a priority with probate, wills, property and possessions to be sorted. You may need to deal with the coroner and an inquest.

There is a lot of help available with bereavement advice and support groups.

Our support doesn’t stop after the funeral. To many people for nearly 60 years, we have been that friend – listening, understanding, patient, calm, sympathetic, respectful and open.
